Newer vacation home with living space upstairs & bedrooms 
below. Large picture windows take advantage of the Columbia River 
and Mt Adams view. Vaulted ceilings create a nice open feeling and 
the kitchen has a bar eating area in addition to an adjoining dining 
table. There is a comfortable entertainment center and a computer 
nook. Downstairs, a daylight basement holds a master bedroom with a 
queen-sized bed. The two other bedrooms sleep an additional 4 
people, one having another queen bed, and the other room has 2 twin 
beds. The lower floor bathroom is accessible to all lower floor 
bedrooms, and the master bedroom has it's own door directly to the 
bathroom. Upstairs there is a new fold-out couch that sleeps two, 
with a bathroom upstairs, too.

The kitchen is very well appointed, and open to the remainder of the 
upper floor. The home has wireless high speed internet, cable 
TV/VCR/DVD/stereo/CD player. There is a deck w/BBQ;the home has air 
conditioning, and a garage with high clearance for SUV's having roof 
racks. The garage also has a sail-hanging area for wind surfers.

Winter skiers can take advantage of discount lift tickets at Mt 
Hood Meadows-each skier saves about $22/day on the cost of skiing 
when staying at Gorge Getaway.

Hood River is world renowned for wind surfing and kite boarding from 
May to September. Many board and sail manufacturing companies are 
located here.
The area has great golfing (search Indian Creek Golf Course), 
fishing, white water river rafting, and kayaking. Hiking is 
extraordinary with spectacular waterfalls, and vistas of mountains 
and rivers. There is a very nice skateboard park 2 blocks away, and 
tennis courts within 5 minutes. There is wonderful mountain biking, 
with two local bike shops in town. Nearby orchards supply fresh 
fruit, and award-winning vineyards create wine-tasting 
opportunities, galore. Full Sail Brewing Company is located in 
downtown Hood River, too. There are excellent restaurants in town 
and interesting shopping. Take a glider ride in the summer from the 
Hood River airport, or visit museums in Stevenson, or The Dalles, 
each a 25 minute drive from Hood River. The museums have displays 
portraying the interesting history and geographic origins of the 
region. Take a paddle-wheel riverboat ride from Stevenson to The 
Dalles, or a historic train ride from Hood River to Odell. Mt Hood 
Meadows ski resort is a 45 minute drive south-take your camera for 
great photo opportunities of the best scenery the world can offer. 
The famous Mt Hood Timberline Lodge is next to Mt Hood Meadows, and 
it offers winter skiing or an access to hiking or fine dining in the 
summer.

Winter: Sept 16-May 30th--$700/wk or $135 Sun-Thurs; $155/night wknds
Summer: June 1st-Sept 15th $1100/wk
Mostly by the week in the summer, but June 1st-20th and Aug 30th-
Sept 15, shorter stays will be considered at a rate of $155 Sun-
Thurs and $175/night on the wknds.
