Pine Rock Cottage is nestled among tall pine trees atop large rocks on
the west shore of Watson Island in Lake Cecebe between Burk’s Falls
and Magnetawan (40 minutes north of Huntsville). Watson Island
provides a secluded retreat from city living.

The owners will pick you up at Rockwynn Landing (where there is free
long term parking) at the start of your rental period and return you
there when you leave. During your rental period you will have the loan
of a row boat with two sets of oars.
 
Pine Rock Cottage has a cozy, efficient layout and is newly renovated,
clean and bright. It features 1 bedroom with a Queen-sized bed, a
double futon in the living room, a full bath with tub and shower
(composting toilet), kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster
oven, coffee maker, two counter-top burners, sink, and all dishes and
utensils. Pine Rock Cottage is fully insulated with two baseboard
heaters for cool nights.
 
Pine Rock Cottage has a table that comfortably seats 4, TV (no
reception) with DVD player, and two skylights (in the bathroom and
kitchen) let in plenty of light. 

There is a strict “no parties” policy, and the maximum number that can
stay overnight at Pine Rock Cottage is 2 people of any age. No tenting
or camping is allowed.

The kitchen is well equipped for a comfortable stay.

A propane BBQ is provided, and a bench on the rock for watching the
sunset. Enjoy your own private 20' dock with swimming ladder. 

Your hosts will pick you up at Rockwynn Landing dock (on Hwy #520)
when you arrive and drop you off there when you leave. A boat is
required to get to Pine Rock Cottage. The loan of a row boat or 16' 6"
canoe comes with a Pine Rock rental. Kayaks can be rented in
Huntsville or Kearney on the way north from Toronto. There are hiking
and biking trails nearby.

If you’re bringing a boat on a trailer, there is a free public boat
launch in the village of Magnetawan or you can use a boat launch at
the Port Carmen Marina for $5 per use.

Free long-term parking is available at Rockwynn Landing just off Hwy
#520 where your hosts will pick you up when you arrive and drop you
off when you leave.
 
Running water is pumped from the lake, and the first 5 gallon jug of
potable drinking water is provided. Free additional drinking water is
available at one of the two artesian wells near Magnetawan or Burk’s
Falls, or may be purchased at local stores.

Guests are expected to bring their own sheets and towels, or are
provided for an additional $15 per week.
 
A well behaved friendly dog wgo is good with strangers is allowed if
the owners agree to pick up all droppings. If your dog won’t reliably
come when called, it must be kept on leash at all times.

There are 40 miles of navigable waterways stretching in both
directions from Watson Island. There are always fishermen on Lake
Cecebe. The lake contains Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch and
Smallmouth Bass. Boats and motors are available for rental at marinas
on the lake.
 
Two nearby towns, Burk’s Falls and Magnetawan, both have restaurants,
grocery stores and antique and craft shops. 

Sunsets are beautiful from the wood bench on top of the rock!

- A non-refundable $175 deposit, for each week or part thereof, is
required for all bookings.
- A $150 damage/cleaning deposit is required at time of booking. This
deposit will be returned if Pine Rock Cottage is left as it was found.
You are expected to leave Pine Rock Cottage in the same condition you
found it. Cleaning supplies andequipment are provided.

The rental week is from Saturday to Saturday with check out no later
than 11 a.m. and check in no earlier than 2 p.m. We will meet you at
the Rockwynn Landing off Hwy #520 on Lake Cecebe and take you to Pine
Rock Cottage and return you to the dock at the end of your visit.

Pine Rock Cottage is available for $350 for a 3-4 day stay on the May
long weekend and the Labour Day weekends.
