The bedrooms are partioned off but not to the ceiling. You can lay
in bed and look up to the cathedral ceiling and
actually see finger prints in some places of where my father and
grandparents built the cottage back in 1950. That's kind of neat.
The bathroom is at the back of the cottage off a hall behind the
kitchen. It has a shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen is fully
equipped, coffeemaker, microwave, electic fry pans, etc. There is a
propane BBQ on the small back deck. There is a patio set behind the
cottage and a picnic table on the front lawn. Lawn furniture is
supplied. There is a row boat and canoe for your use and a raft to
swim to about 25 feet off shore. It's about 5.5 feet deep at the
raft. There is no drop off on the bottom of the lake. The dock is
about 14 feet long with sandy bottom, about 2 feet at the shore and
3.5 to 4 feet at the end of the dock. If you have your own fishing
boat, there is a boat lift to accomodate up to a 21 ft boat. The
marina is just four driveways away, for gas, bait, snacks and ice
cream treats. There is a ski school which offers wakeboard and
skiing lessons from marina, as well. There is a boat launch at Nahma
Lodge Marina.
The back of the cottage is about 300 feet deep with places to park
your vehicles off the driveway to the country road which is a dead
end so only has cottage traffic. It's nice to go for walks about 1
mile each way on the road to the end. The lake side of the cottage
is 100 feet deep by 60 feet wide with hedges on either side of the
yard to give privacy from the other cottages.
There is a golf course and driving range nearby if you like golfing.
Fenelon Falls is about 10 minutes away with a large Sobey's grocery
store. You may want to wait to do your shopping there, rather than
transport frozen food. The frig was new last summer, has a large
freezer compartment. Fenelon has a beer and liquor store as well.
It's fun to go in and watch the boats go through the locks. There's
a great seafood restaurant , pizza and ice cream bar, and the
Dockside Restaurant all beside the locks. The Sow and Cow in
Fenelon is well known for its chicken and ribs and there are two
great Chinese restaurants. Leungs has the best WonTon soup,
everything homemade,even the eggrolls.
