Admiralty House, located right on the waterfront with a million 
dollar panoramic view, is in the charming historic village of 
Lunenburg, with excellent shops and restaurants a few steps away. It 
has proved to be an ideal vacation and honeymoon spot for so many 
since we began sharing it for tourist rental in 1999. Since 
Admiralty House is a duplex consisting of two spacious (1200 square 
feet) private flats, The Upper Deck and The Captain’s Quarters, we 
have hosted many happy family reunions by the sea.

All of our guests to date have said that Admiralty House is even  
more wonderful than our website can portray, the views are glorious; 
the village is at your fingertips but one still has the privacy of a 
quiet and spacious (each flat is 1200 square feet) home away from 
home. We are just in the process of putting up a new website (more

The Upper Deck and The Captain's Quarters are two private separate, 
spacious (1200 square feet) flats that each sleep six. Each flat is 
private, fully equipped to be a home away from home, including a 
full kitchen with six full-sized appliances and may be rented 
separately. Or for larger gatherings of family and friends the whole 
house may be rented and the internal connecting door may be opened 
for such occasions. Many families have enjoyed this space for a 
group holiday. Three private bedrooms in the Upper Deck (2 
doubles ,  one queen), sleeps six. Captain's Quarters two private 
bedrooms (one queen, one double), sleeps six. 5% discount for 
booking the whole house.

The Upper Deck is fully equipped to be a home away from home, with 
completely equipped eat-in kitchen that includes six full-sized 
appliances (including washer, dryer, dishwasher) and even a lobster 
pot. Comfortably furnished living room that includes cable TV, VCR, 
DVD and phone. There is a huge ocean-side deck and an ocean view. 
Admiralty House features excellent housekeeping using scent free 
products & a positively no-smoking environment. Three bedrooms (2 
doubles & 1 queen). The location offers the best of both worlds: 
breath-taking ocean views & the experience of the sea & the charm & 
convenience of being in a peaceful heritage village. Each flat, The 
Upper Deck (upstairs) & The Captain's Quarters (ground floor) is 
completely separate & private "home away from home" for up to 6. The 
Captain's Quarters, may also be rented, providing a perfect space 
for a family reunion or a gathering of friends (up to 12). There is 
an internal connecting door that can be opened for such occasions.

Outside on the deck or inside from the lovely picture window in the 
kitchen, you can sit with a cup of coffee at daybreak or a glass of 
wine at sunset and enjoy the bird's eye view of the harbor from this 
flat is spectacular (which includes the Bluenose 11 when she is in 
port). A 'room with a million dollar view,' the eat-in kitchen is a 
terrific space for cooking and sharing food and fun. The living room 
offers quiet relaxation, or for those with work to do, an adjoining 
alcove provides a desk. With three bedrooms (queen and two doubles) 
there is plenty of space for private R&R. Guests will also enjoy 
relaxing in the bathroom with a view with a luxury, air whirlpool 
massage tub.

THE CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS
Welcome to the Captain's Quarters, the charming and private ground 
floor flat of Admiralty House, right on the ocean in residential old 
town Lunenburg. What a delight when we removed the carpeting in The 
Captain’s Quarters, revealing gorgeous hardwood floors in a log 
cabin or herring bone pattern. We think you will feel like the 
captain of a fine ship in this lovely ground floor suite, especially 
seated in the fabulous glassed in porch on the waterside of the 
house. This glorious room provides wonderful vistas of the harbour, 
a perfect vantage point for watching boats, birds, the sunset or 
just absorbing the beauty of the water. Since this is a private e 
room, with a very comfortable double futon the captain may choose to 
bunk down here. Alternately, the spacious master bedroom with a 
queen sized bed or a very comfortable double pull-out in the living 
room could be the sleeping quarters of choice. A large eat-in 
kitchen and a gracious dining room gives lots of scope for enjoying 
that lobster or other bounty of the sea. Other spots for quiet 
relaxation are the living room or the old-fashioned verandah with 
sliding glass panels, adjustable according to the sea breeze or the 
Jacuzzi-style air whirlpool bathtub in the four piece bathroom. 

THE UPPER DECK
Outside on the expansive ocean-side deck, or inside from the lovely 
picture window in the kitchen; with a cup of coffee at daybreak or a 
glass of wine at sunset, the bird's eye view of the harbour from the 
spacious and private Upper Deck is spectacular. A "room with a 
million dollar view", the eat-in kitchen is a terrific space for 
cooking and sharing food and fun and includes six full-sized 
appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher). The living room, with 
comfortable contemporary furnishings as well as antiques, cable TV/ 
DVD, and telephone offers quiet relaxation, or for those with work 
to do, an adjoining alcove provides a desk. With three bedrooms 
(queen, and two doubles) there is also plenty of space for private 
R&R. Chose the seaside bedroom with antique sleigh bed (double) and 
ocean views, the master bedroom with queen bed or the middle bedroom 
with a double bed. Enjoy the luxury of an air whirl pool massage in 
the four piece bathroom (which also has an ocean view). 

Lunenburg is a delightful fishing village of about 2,500, designated 
a UNESCO world heritage site, & home port of the famous Bluenose. 
Many interesting sites & walks, such as the remarkable architecture 
of restored homes, the fascinating Fisherman's museum, sailing 
excursions, whale watch tours & horse drawn carriage tours, deep sea 
fishing, local festivals, as well as excellent restaurants & an 
interesting variety of shops. Just down the street is the world 
class Fisheries museum with excellent interactive activities for 
children as well as 2 restored fishing vessels, a sailing schooner & 
a trawler. Lunenburg is still an active fishing community & guests 
are fascinated by the coming & going of the ocean trawlers. When in 
port, the Bluenose is visible from the deck & the yard, as are the 
many other toll masted schooners that come to visit. There are 
municipal tennis courts, playgrounds & a swimming pool. Fabulous 
South Shore beaches & towns are at your finger-tips, Halifax is 1 
hour
