Perfectly placed for exploring the Far West of Cornwall, Tregathenan 
Country Cottages are situated at the end of a bridle path about 
three miles north of the historic Helston. Three tastefully 
converted barns are arranged around a sunny secluded courtyard 
adjacent to the owner’s 17th century farmhouse. All three cottages 
are fully equipped with all the comforts of home. Each has a cooker, 
fridge, microwave, TV and video, CD/radio/cassette player, 
washer/dryer and all are centrally heated for year round comfort. 
Each cottage has been individually decorated and reflects a 
different aspect of Cornish life and heritage. The Hayloft features 
the coastal and shipping aspects of Cornwall, the Granary gives an 
insight into the mining activities in the country and the Long Barn 
looks at rural life around the turn of the century. The Granary 
sleeps up to five in a double and a family bedroom and has the added 
luxury of a dishwasher. The Long Barn sleeps four with a four-poster 
bed in the master bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom. The 
Hayloft also accommodates up to four in two bedrooms and has a spa 
bath as a little extra treat. Prices include bed linen and all gas 
and electricity and towels can be provided for a small additional 
charge.

Guests invariably comment on how quiet, peaceful and away from it 
all it is at Tregathenan. That said the cottages are about twenty 
minutes drive from all the major visitor attractions in this part of 
Cornwall. The National Maritime Museum at Falmouth, The Tate Modern 
and Barbara Hepworth Galleries at St Ives, The Lizard Peninsula, and 
St Michael’s Mount are just a few of them. The best of Cornwall’s 
beaches between Padstow and The Helford Estuary are a short drive 
away. Try Hayle, Sennen or Praa for the classic miles of golden 
sand, or a quieter more secluded cove like Poldhu or Kynance. There 
are an incredible number of glorious gardens within easy reach of 
Tregathenan. Trebah, Glendurgan, Trellissick and Trengwainton too 
mention but a few. The Trevarno Estate and Gardens featuring The 
National Museum of Gardening are a gentle 20 minutes stroll from the 
door of your cottage.
