the best fishing grounds and piers in the South East. Boat trips are 
easily arranged. 

The picturesque and quiet village of Word in Worth, is well off the 
beaten track and a delightful place to stay having many beautiful 
walks to offer. It is only a mile or so from the mediaeval, and 
historic cinque port of Sandwich - once one of the busiest ports in 
England and well worth a visit. 

Well connected to the port of Dover, a restful stop over en route to 
the continent can be guaranteed.

Inside this ancient and picturesque 15th century pub there are six B 
& B rooms, all ensuite with baths and showers. All are equipped with 
TV, radio alarm clocks, tea and coffee making facilities, hair 
dryers and a trouser press.

The nearby towns of Dover and Deal offer excellent pier, boat and 
beach fishing, the area is good for Cod, Whiting, Flatfish, Bass, 
Dogfish and the good old Dabs and Pouting. It is also just a short 
walk to the sea at Sandwich Bay where there is excellent fishing to 
be had off the shingle beach. 

The Breakwater Pier at Dover, open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 
can be fished. Alternatively, a boat trip means you can fish all 
day. The Admiralty and Princess Piers at Dover and the Deal Pier, 
together with Samphire Hoe (which has a mile of fishing area, plus 
parking and a picnic area) are also excellent locations for a day's 
sea fishing.

For somewhat lighter inland fishing, Cottington Lakes offers two 
large lakes full of carp and five lakes for silver fishing, open 
from dawn to dusk, or there are local rivers providing ideal pike 
fishing.

Tye, the landlord, a keen fisherman himself, is happy to arrange 
both sea and river fishing trips for guests staying at the St 
Crispin Inn.
