Jane’s House is a recently restored traditional house in the hill 
village of Rachtades in the northwest corner of Corfu. Rachtades 
enjoys a slow paced rural lifestyle removed from the hustle and 
bustle of the tourist haunts, which makes it the ideal location for 
those wanting to ‘get away from it all’. 

The Villa enjoys magnificent views across the tree clad valley 
(mainly olive and cypress) and on a clear day both the sea at Agios 
Stefanos, in the west, and the mountains in Albania, to the east, can 
be seen.

The villa is ideally suited for up tp six people, but it can 
accommodate more by utilising sofa beds in the lounge if necessary. 
Central heating is available for out of season use. Car hire 
essential, (this can be arranged if required). 

A number of superb beaches are within an easy ten minute drive from 
the house including Agios Georgios, Arillas and Sidari. The bustling 
resort of Sidari is the place for those seeking restaurants, bars and 
nightlife.

 
  

The restoration of Jane’s House was completed in 2006 and the house 
now boasts extensive living accommodation.

Two double bedrooms and a bathroom occupy the ground floor. Both 
bedrooms have double beds and ample storage. The master bedroom 
enjoys a full width balcony with magnificent valley views.

The first floor comprises a fully equipped lounge/kitchen/diner and 
is reached by either the external stone staircase to the front door 
or an internal pine staircase. A full width balcony with valley, sea 
and mountain views compliments the room.

The fully tiled bathroom has a bath (plus integral shower), a 
separate shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.

Tiled floors to all the ground floor rooms and a cypress wood floor 
to the first floor compliment the living accommodation.

Above lounge/kitchen/diner in the vaulted pine roof space is the 
mezzanine floor. This can either be used as a ‘chill-out’ area or as 
a third twin bedroom. Access to this area is via a steep ladder type 
staircase making it unsuitable for young children or people with 
disabilities.

TV, DVD, CD player, satellite TV, PlayStation (including games). 
Fully fitted kitchen including cooker, fridge and washing machine. 

Ample crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. 

Iron and ironing board. 

Picnic equipment including cool bag and ice blocks. 

Beach mats, umbrellas and other beach stuff (bats and balls, snorkels 
and masks etc). 

Board games, other games and books. 

Maps and other information including tourist facilities, sightseeing 
suggestions, where to shop, where to eat, taxis. 

Two adult mountain bikes plus pump and tools. 

Parking. 

Travel cot - cot linen not provided, please bring your own 
 

Jane’s House is available for weekly hire throughout the year from 
Monday to Monday. Most flights arrive on a Monday but other arrival 
days may be possible.

25% deposit secures booking.

Prices quoted are for a maximum of four adults and two children. 
Extra people will be charged at £50 per person per week (under 2's 
free).

Prices are in £ sterling per week.

1. Contact me by e-mail or telephone to make a provisional booking. I 
will check and confirm availability for you. Provisional bookings 
will be held for a maximum of 7 days prior to receipt of deposit.  

2. Complete a Booking Form and post it to me with your deposit 
payment. If your booking is more than 6 weeks before your arrival 
date, please send 25% of total holiday cost as deposit. The full 
balance will be due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If your booking 
is less than 6 weeks before your arrival date, please send the full 
amount payable with your booking form. 

3. A booking acknowledgement will be sent to you on receipt of your 
booking form and payment.  
4. Directions and arrangements for collection of the keys will be 
despatched within 2 weeks of your arrival date.
