Attractions |
|
We have provided a detailed reference guide in your cottage which
will assist you in planning your fun filled holiday. Many
attractions include an antique tourist train with open-air cars
which chugs through the countryside to St. Thomas and back. Shopping
is a treat in the quaint boutiques and galleries of the local
artists. The grape and fruit wineries and specialty farms are a must
visit.
Some of the best golfing can be found with the new in-town Kettle
Creek Golf & Country Club; another, The Bluffs of Port Stanley Golf
Club, only five minutes away as well as numerous other courses
within a thirty minute drive.
If you enjoy hiking, certainly plan on walking the Elgin Hiking
Trail from St. Thomas to Port Stanley. Maybe you would prefer
trekking the numerous nearby conservation areas, especially
Springwater with the diversity of its Carolinian forest.
Bird watchers will love Hawk Cliff, which is one of the largest
flyways for migrating raptors, also a rendezvous for monarch
butterflies. Port Burwell Conservation Area, only minutes away, has
one of Ontario's best kept secrets - an incredibly long and secluded
beach.
Don't forget summer theatre from late May to early September,
something not be missed!
Port Stanley is conveniently located, only half an hour away from
London with its amazing shopping, Theatre London, museums and
galleries. Even Stratford is only an hour and 15 minutes away. Car
buffs can attend the many classic car displays happening nightly in
and around Port Stanley, a different one every night!
