Comfortable Summer home about a mile from nearby Westport NY. 
Suitable for couple, small family, or two couples. The town is small, 
friendly, and pretty. The region includes the famous 46 peaks - 46 
mountains over 4000 feet - plenty of great hiking.  Most famous town: 
Lake Placid - about an hour away. You are about two hours from 
Montreal and 1.5 hours from Burlington..
 
The cottage is usually our Summer home, but is rentable this year, 
and all taken except the weeks of July 7 and July 21.

This is the center house of five fronting on a small bay within 
Northeast Bay. The houses are not crowded together, and the neighbors 
are usually quiet - - except of course when kids are having fun in 
the lake.

There's sandy beach in front of the house, gorgeous view of the lake 
and the Green Mountains in Vermont.  The lake is about 2 miles wide 
here. Good swimming - safe for children.  Use of flat bottom row boat 
and a canoe.

Small and efficient kitchen with usual appliances - all electric. W & 
D laundry. FM stereo and CD player - no TV. Gas grill on the front 
porch. New furniture except in the 3rd bedroom which is smaller and 
plainer than MBR and Guest Room. Dining table at the picture window 
in living room, looking directly out on the lake.Skylights in living 
room and MBR.
There's a woodstove built into the stone fireplace in living room - 
but it's unlkely you will need it in July or August.
At the desk there's a phone line with standard plug for dial-up 
internet access.

The Adirondack Park is huge and unique; there's history, sports, and 
simply beauty. There are a few excellent cultural attractions, such 
as our wonderful Westport bDepot Theater, and concerts at Ballard 
Park.  You 
can ride the ferry to Vermont and visit Burlington - often listed 
among the top ten small cities in America.
Two excellent museums on NY side and one in Vermont:  Blue Mountain 
Lake,also Raquette Lake NY, and Shelburne Vermont. Each about 60-90

A 25% deposit secures your reservation, with the balance due 13 weeks 
before occupancy.
Rentals are Saturday to Saturday; check-in at 4pm, check-out by 10am
Contract covers exact cancellation terms.
A $500 security deposit is due with the final rent payment; it is 
returned within 30 days of check-out. It covers any obvious damage or 
missing items as well as large LD phone charges.
