'Villa Athina' is located in Porto Rafti which is an old fishing 
village 
that has kept its charm (and still has fresh fish landed every 
morning), 
while developing as a beautiful holiday resort that has not been 
deluged 
by too many tourists. 
The house has a lovely garden and a patio with a large table, 
chairs and barbecue. It is an ideal and attractive spot for enjoying 
your meals. 
There are two large L-shaped balconies, one on each of the top 2 
floors 
with panoramic views and table with chairs where you can rest and 
enjoy 
the sea and mountain views with a glass of the tasty local wine.

With one king en-suite, one double and two twin bedrooms, the villa is 
ideal for families or 'get-togethers', with plenty in the surrounding 
area to see and do during your stay. Athens with the Parthenon, 
museums 
and the flea market is a mere 38 kilometres away. 

Porto Rafti is a seaside town, located in the 
picturesque Porto Rafti Bay on the east coast of Attica. It is 
conveniently placed near the new Athens International Airport (about 
12 km) where you can also join the 
Attiki Odos (new motor-way) and connections to the excellent new 
Metro. 
The area is rich in history. The port was a major trading place during 
the Ancient times and continued so until the collapse of the Roman 
Empire. As the town is surrounded by hills its weather is somewhat 
distinct from the rest of Attica  the climate is typically 
Mediterranean 
and resembles that of the Aegean Islands with relatively mild winters 
and hot dry summers. 

'Villa Athina' is located about 1100 metres from the sea front with a 
choice of many beautiful sandy beaches, restaurants and sea-front 
fish tavernas that serve freshly caught fish, traditional Greek food 
and delicious local wine. 

The area is famous for its excellent local wine, 'Markopoulo' 
pistachio nuts, crystal clear sea and freshly caught fish every day. 

All main local amenities such as open-air cinemas, clubs and bars, 
pattisseries and coffee shops, doctors and chemists, supermarkets and 
designer boutiques are within 5 minutes drive from our villa. 

There is a mini-market and a traditional Greek taverna just 3-5 
minutes walk away.

For those interested to explore the area further or partake of 
different activities, there is plenty nearby to see and do:
* The forest of Kouvaras with its many monasteries. 
* The famous Glyfada Golf Club of Athens, only a short drive away
* A variety of water sports and other activities nearby
* Surfing and yachting also available
* Island-hopping by ferry from nearby ports.
* Hire your private yacht with captain to cruise to nearby islands of 
your choice, at a competitive rate, with drinks inclusive.

There are many ancient sites and temples that you can visit, just a 
few minutes drive away. They include:
 - the impressive temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounio 
 - the temple of Artemis in Vravrona
 - the burial mound and museum of Marathon, and of course
 - the Parthenon of Athens and the many museums.
Porto Rafti is only 38 km from the center of thriving and exciting 
Athens. It has excellent transport connections making it very easy to 
visit all of the above and the following festivals:
 * Athens Festival, held at the magnificent ancient open-air theatre 
of Herod Atticus Odeon (built in 161AD). 
 * Lycabettus Hill Festival. The programme includes contemporary jazz, 
pop, rock and dance shows. This is held during the summer months
 * Greek Dance festival at Dora Stratou on the Philopappus Hill from 
May to September

Our rental prices above are for the villa to sleep up to 8 people 
(with an additional baby's bed charged at 25 GB pounds), on a self-
catering basis. 
These rates include all bills of electricity, water, air-conditioning, 
bed linen, bath towels and a welcome pack for your arrival.
