A vacationers dream, this comfortable cottage is 2 miles North of
Manistee, Michigan on a low bluff overlooking the wide sandy beach
at Lake Michigan. Sit on the lakeside deck and watch the spectacular
sunsets. Relax on the beach, walk the beach for miles if you like,
or build a campfire in the pit as you watch the spectacular display
of the stars overhead. Grill your favorite meals and eat outside on
the spacious side deck at the picnic table, or use the fully
equipped kitchen and eat inside with a great view of Lake Michigan.
The cottage has TV/VCR/DVD, 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, and sleeps 6-8.
Stairway to the beach has a spacious deck 12 steps down, then 15
steps to the beach. Enjoy Manistee, the Victorian Port City 2 miles
away with historical buildings and Victorian homes, Little River
Casino, museums, lighthouse and pier, 1.75 mile Riverwalk, 2 city
beaches, marinas, shopping, restaurants, concerts, Ramsdell Theater,
fishing, and the SS Milwaukee historical steamship.

Manistee is the Victorian Port City, with historical buildings (some
with tours), Victorian houses, Little River Casino, Lighthouse and

Charter fishing or fishing off the pier, public boat launches, even
airplane rides. Walk the 1.75 mile Riverwalk along the Manistee
River, and view closeup a 700 foot freighter carefully navigating
the Manistee River channel. There are restaurants, shopping,
numerous concerts and live theater at the historic Ramsdell Theater.
Many fine golf courses including the renowned Manistee National,
Arcadia Bluffs, and Manistee Country Club. Canoe and kayak the
Manistee River. Hike the Manistee National Forest, Orchard Beach
State Park, Lake Bluff Audubon Society, and the dunes at Sleeping
Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Bike on area country roads. Visit the
world renowned Interlochen Arts Academy & National Music Camp as
well as the Leelenau Peninsula Wineries. There are many area
festivals.

Cottage has a spacious large bedroom which has both a double bed and
bunk beds, as well as a game table area with a large selection of
adult and family board games, a CD/tape/radio player, and a Casio
piano keyboard. Great room living area has a double bed sleeper
sofa. Private smaller bedroom has a queen-size bed.
In the bathroom behind wooden folding doors on the left are a full-
size washer and dryer, as well as linen and towel cabinets. With the
doors closed, you do not see them. Fiberglass tub/shower on the
right, hidden in photo.

Activities: Swimming, boating and fishing on Lake Michigan; biking
on picturesque country roads and hiking on area trails in the
Manistee National Forest and North Country Trail. Canoe, Kayak and
Tube rentals on the Manistee and Pine Rivers nearby. Try your luck at
the newly expanded Little River Casino or see a great show there.
Golfing on the fine golf courses in the Manistee area, including
Manistee National, Arcadia Bluffs links course, and Manistee Golf and
Country Club; close to great shopping, antique shops, fine
restaurants, many area festivals including the National Forest
Festival July 4th week, the Port City Festival in early September.
Visit the Hitching Post, the best year-round Christmas Store in
Western Michigan. Take a sightseeing airplane ride at Manistee
Blacker Airport nearby. Catch the world-famous Scottville Clown Band
or a free jazz or music concert. About 45 minutes to the renowned
Interlochen Arts Academy and National Music Camp, with performances
daily (many are free).
Area: Visit the fascinating Manistee County Historical Museum on
River Street, and the Water Works Building museum on First Street.
See an 1880’s dentist’s office and drug store. Find out what a
logging wheel is. (It was invented in Manistee). There are free Jazz
Concerts at the Rotary Gazebo on First Street Beach each week, and
free concerts Wednesday nights at the Victorian Gazebo on the
riverfront. The Little River Casino has concerts from famoujs groups
and artists (the 2009 schedule includes Chubby Checker, Wynonna Judd,
Eddie Money and others), and it has a variety of restaurants. The
Ramsdell Theater has excellent live plays and concerts, and the
adjoining Manistee Art Institute has excellent exhibitions. Most
Manistee restaurants have an all-you-can-eat fish fry dinner on
Fridays.
