built in 2001 by local master craftsmen. It's nestled at the end of a 
long driveway curving through private woods in an "old Maine"  summer 
colony near Acadia National Park. Located on one acre of spruce and 
birches, Heron Cove is secluded, yet only 80 feet from the shore and 
crystal-clear, deep waters of Union Bay. Enjoy world-class views of 
Mt. Desert Island from our private beach ~ 

Beautifully decorated with Ethan Allen furniture and family antiques, 
Heron Cove boasts hardwood and slate floors, cathedral ceilings, 
marble-surround shower and tub, a gas woodstove/fireplace, private 
decks or porches for each bedroom, a bunkroom for teens with its own 
TV and DVD player, and a collector's library of Maine books and 
movies. Heron Cove is fully winterized and available for rent all

Heron Cove is located in Maine's Penobscot Bay region, on the Blue 
Hill Peninsula near Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, 
Castine, and Deer Isle. Acadia is an area of stunning natural beauty, 
with sapphire water, crashing surf, granite cliffs, secluded beaches, 
and quiet fishing villages. Swim, hike, bicycle, or mountain climb in 
Acadia National Park.  Explore lighthouses and sea captains’ 
mansions. Go whale watching, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, or golfing. 
Eat lobster on the dock of a local pound or savor the popovers at the 
famed Jordan Pond House. Sail the jagged coast on a windjammer or 
cross to Nova Scotia aboard the "Cat" ferry. The county seat, 
Ellsworth, boasts outstanding dining, while Camden, Searsport, and
