Located at the base of the majestic Beartoom Mountain Range of the
Northern Rockies, Red Lodge has something for everyone. Located 60
miles southwest of Billings, MT and 60 miles northwest of Cody Wy,
Red lodge is a friendly, mountain town of 2200 residents.
Summer activities in Red Lodge include golfing, swimming, fishing,
hiking, camping, whitewater rafting and gorgeous day trips to the
mountains. Red Lodge hosts a wide variety of summer events,
including 3 days of Rodeo and Parade on July 2, 3, 4. Other summer
events include Harley Davidson and BMW rallies, Old-Time Fiddlers,
Mountain Man Rendezvous, Fat Tire Frenzy, various art events, a
music festival and the Beartooth Run.
Red Lodge becomes a winter wonderland when the snow flies. With a
friendly atmosphere and terrain for all ability levels, Red Lodge
Mountain provides a great skiing experience. Red Lodge winter events
include Nordic and backcountry skiing, Taste of Red Lodge, Winter
Carnival, Ski-Joring, and the Christmas Stroll.
The Beartooth Pass, designated a National Scenic Byway, elevation
10947, is a wonder to behold, with beautiful vistas as far as the
eye can see. The Pass is open Memorial Day until late September or
as weather permits. Definitely worth the trip! Yellowstone National
Park is 67 miles from Red Lodge via the Beartooth Pass.
There are plenty of shopping and dining choices in Red Lodge. My
favorite for steak is the Carbon County Steakhouse, pizza and
sandwiches from Red Lodge Pizza Company. Mmmmm, lunch from Foster
and Logan's, breakfast from Hanks Place or the Red Lodge Cafe. Art,
western memorabilia, souvenirs, clothing, the list goes on and on.
I invite you to join us in Red Lodge, Montana. Come as you are.
Stay. Share in our little slice of paradise.
