 Description

Looking for seclusion? This beautiful spot is a must! Though Indian Pointe can accommodate up to five people, it is best appreciated as a romantic hideaway for 2. Enjoy all the comforts of home and more, while you relax in the outdoor hot tub overlooking the Kalamazoo River and Pottawatomie Marshlands. Bird-watch from the screen room, ride your mountain bikes, canoe through the marsh, cross-country ski, take your puppy for a long walk in the woods, then cook in or out...all with a view to behold. Chances are you won’t want to leave, but fine dining options in Saugatuck & Douglas are only a short drive away. Cedar walls, vaulted ceilings and an entire east wall of glass blend the house with its surrounding 2 acres of woods and river front. Snuggle in front of the fire, share wine on the screened deck, fish from the seawall, spot bald eagles circling the marsh, and listen to the ancient cries of the sand hill cranes without leaving the property. A 5 minute drive places you in the heart of Saugatuck where you can shop all of the unique boutique shops, and in 7 minutes you can be stretched out amongst the dunes on Lake Michigan’s Oval Beach, rated one of the 5 most beautiful beaches in the country! So whether your vacation plans include wild life or the WILD life, Indian Pointe will be one spot you must revisit time and again.

 Attractions

Located amongst the sandy dunes of Lake Michigan, Saugatuck is a unique small town community offering something for everyone! The downtown streets are filled with boutique shops, ice cream stores, waterfront restaurants, and more. On the other side of the river are the sand dunes which line the shores of Lake Michigan. Here you will find Oval beach, Saugatuck's most popular public beach, where you can spend hours wandering through the dunes, napping on the beach, or playing in the waves! Once primarily a “summer town”, Saugatuck now offers a full year’s worth of reasons to visit! Kicking off each year with New Year’s Eve fireworks over the bay, and ending by transforming the town into a “twinkling Currier and Ives print”, each month offers its own bit of whimsy, and the perfect reason to escape from the “real” world. Each event offers a special Saugatuck touch. Here the Fourth of July fireworks are always on the 4th, no matter what day of the week that may be, and the Christmas lights are turned on the day AFTER Thanksgiving rather than in October! Some of our events are wonderfully local. June brings a fabulous film festival. Two summer theaters and a month of Chamber Music performances offer first rate entertainment during July and August. Colorful maples and long, warm fall days can be enjoyed at October’s Goose Festival and Halloween-Harvest Celebration. Art is enjoyed year ‘round with Gallery Strolls, Art-Around-Town displays, and art classes for young and old.
