Both cottages are located on a peaceful hillside, and ideal for a 
relaxing break, and those who like to be 'away from it all'  -  just 
sit back on one of the terraces and take in the amazing view.

Both Almond and Carob Cottage have all the charm of old Greek houses, 
but with all mod cons  - they were restored by an English couple and 
both have well equipped kitchens and bathrooms with modern showers 
and loos, CD player, cassette player, radio, video player and 
selection of videos, audio cassettes and lots of books.
Each cottage has a separate entrance (and are completely private from 
each other) and are linked by a path through the terraced gardens.  
Carob is further up the mountain side than Almond.  They can be 
rented separately or together for larger groups or families.

Locality:
The nearest town is Stavros which is walkable (if you are a keen 
walker) as there are no mountains to climb as the road is 'on the 
flat' so to speak winding around the mountains.  It is just under 3 
kilometres from the cottages, and has a supermarket, bakery, etc., as 
well as several good tavernas.  A car is recommended and we can put 
you in touch with Spiros at Alpha Cars who can arrange for one to be 
at the ferry for when you arrive in Ithaca, or with Melis if you 
would like one to be delivered to the airport in Kefalonia, or we can 
arrange taxi's to get you to the cottage and you can have the car 
delivered to the cottage.  If you did not want to drive, Yanni, the 
local taxi driver provides an excellent service. 

Polis Bay has a beach bar and typical Greek taverna right there on 
the sand.  Other places which are a must to visit are Kioni and 
Frikes  -  a pretty drive away (about 10 to 20 mins, depending upon 
how many goats are on the road!) on the East side of Northern Ithaca -
 we are just opposite on the West side, looking across the water to 
Kefalonia.  They are both little fishing villages where you can 
choose from a number of family run tavernas along the quayside.  
Kioni also has a good selection of local craft shops.

Our changeover day is a Sunday.  
The rate includes bed linen and towels, but not beach towels, and a 
welcome hamper upon arrival, including a bottle of local wine.
