What can you do at Sea Space?
You can swim, sunbathe, fish, skin dive, fly a kite, explore the
shore and marsh, walk down shady farm lanes, study nature or just
relax in some quiet place. Our cottages are completely and
comfortably furnished for housekeeping. (Sorry, we do not furnish
sheets, pillow cases, bath or dish towels, television sets or
radios.) Each cottage is screened; all offer beautiful views. They
may be rented by the week, month or season.
In addition to its natural beauty, the Greater Fairhaven area offers
many opportunities for sightseeing and fun activities. These include
historic sites, museums, theaters, state parks and beaches, beautiful
old homes and historic buildings.
In days past, millionaire Henry Huttleston Rogers had his summer
mansion in Fairhaven, and through the years our town was frequently
visited by Mark Twain, actress Laura Keene, the infamous Lizzie
Borden and the young F.D.R., whose grandparents lived here.
Captain Joshua Slocum rebuilt the sloop, Spray, in Fairhaven before
sailing it solo around the world. Many of the homes and sites of
history still remain in this beautiful seaside town.
