If the congestion of the beaches has become too much for you, then 
Egret cottage will be a welcome alternative.  Restful, private, and 
yet close enough to the Outer Banks beaches for a day in the shops, 
on the sand, or enjoying entertainment and dining.  Enjoy 
birdwatching, fishing, kayaking or canoeing right from our dock, or 
drive just a short distance to one of the many boat ramps in the 
area.  Nags Head, Manteo, Roanoke Island, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil 
Hills, Edenton are all close by.  Or discover Columbia, only six 
miles away, a waterfront town with a couple of restaurants and a 
marina.  The area is home to many thousands of acres of preserved 
land is available for hiking, fishing, boating and birdwatching.  
Within a reasonable drive are Lake Mattamuskeet, the Great Dismal 
Swamp and Canal, Merchants Millpond Swamp State Park, and historic 
plantations like Somerset Place and the Hope Plantation.

Rates start at $635 for a week in the off season (Jan 1 to Apr 30) 
and go up to $995 for a week in high summer (June 1 to August 30).

We do offer nightly rates ranging from $99 to $179, and also 5 day 
discounts.  2 night minimum, 3 nights on holiday weekends.

$200 security damage deposit and state & local occupancy taxes 
(12.75%) are also added.  We DO 
NOT charge an additional cleaning fee.
