Our recently renovated traditional Maine shore cottage sits on 1 3/4
acres with 350+ feet of rocky and sandly shoreline on a deep water
bay. The 2 BR, full bath cottage is comfortably furnished and
offers spectacular open views of Pigeon Hill Bay, Bois Bubert
Island, Petit Manan Island lighthouse, and the north Atlantic.
Recline comfortably in our Great Room and watch local lobstermen
haul their catch (in season) through 25' of continuous windows.
Great blue herons will hunt for dinner in the shallows near the
beach and bald eagles will fly over head or perch nearby.
Our 2 BR, full bath cottage offers accommodations for up to six
persons: double bed in the master BR with direct access to the full
bath; two twin beds in the 2d floor BR with view of the bay and
secondary access to the full bath; and extra sleeping accommodations
for two persons in a comfortable pull-out queen size sleeper in the
Great Room with easy access to the bath. Complete kitchen with full
size appliances is stocked with all the cookware, dishware, and
utensils you need to enjoy your stay - including a lobster pot,
naturally!
Our cottage is located on a quiet, two lane blacktop road that is
rural-residential in feel. Our road ends 1/2 mile beyond our
cottage at the parking area for the Petit Manan National Wildlife
Refuge, one of 540 refuges in the U.S. National Wildlife system.
Petit Manan NWLR consists of over 7,000 acres on three mainland
parcels and 43 offshore islands. Over 325 species of birds have
been identified in and around Petit Manan NWLR -- more than any
other refuge in the U.S. system. Depending on season, it is common
to see eagles, ospreys, eiders, loons, cormorants, great blue
herons, arctic and roseate terns, puffins, murres, guillemots,
buffleheads, black ducks, sanderlings, and dozens and hundreds of
other shorebirds, waterbirds, and songbirds in the Refuge, on our
beach, and in the bay. Petit Manan is a magical place that you will
wish to visit year after year.
