yard is a sprawling park like setting with lush green meadows, a 
private spring creek, 100-year-old cottonwood trees, and 
unbelievable 360 degree mountain views. 

The floor plan is perfect for groups who want to enjoy their time 
together, but also have a feeling of privacy.
The home has two levels, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the upper 
level, and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths on the lower level. Johnies Bar, 
and a fun recreation room are also on the lower level. House has one 
king bed, 2 queens, and 4 twin beds. In addtion there is a queen size 
futon in the recreation rooms that can be used as an additional 
bedroom area.

Custom lodge pole pine furniture and fun western antiques 
fill the house, and are sure to add to the enjoyment of your stay on 
Big Trout Ranch.

Relax, have a drink, and watch the sunset at Johnie’s Bar after a 
tough day of fishing! The lower level of Kamloops features a 
very unique recreation room with a 100+ year old high back bar, dart 
board, pool, and poker table.

Almost a mile of The Beaverhead River, a spring creek, and two 
ponds are available for private trout fishing-All are just a 
short walk from the house. You will definitely want to try your luck 
on one of these 3 private fisheries on the ranch. Large Brown and 
Rainbow trout are the typical catches.


The wild life will be your only neighbors while staying on Big 
Trout Ranch. Bald eagles, Whitetail deer, Sandhill Cranes, geese 
and pheasants make daily appearances, while the more elusive moose, 
antelope, and elk are the occasional visitors. The Big Trout Ranch 
waterfowl pond is a great place for birdwatching.

We would be most interested in using an exchange during our winter 
months here in Montana-i.e. November-March.  However, the exchange 
does not need to be simultaneous.  We have three options to choose 
from on Big Trout Ranch-a one room log cabin (this listing), a 4 
bedroom log home (Big Brown), and a 5 bedroom home (Kamloops). The 
two larger homes are also listed on this site. The best months for 
someone to come here would be April, May, or October, but
inquire because other time frames might also be available.
