For over 30 years the Hale Makai Cottages have been among the most 
sought after Vacation Rentals on the North Shore of Kauai. They are 
nestled within a lush tropical landscape, directly on the ocean with 
panoramic views onto the Napali.  Its privacy and romantic setting 
allows for secluded Weddings, Honeymoons, Anniversaries, Birthdays, 
and other Family Celebrations. The property’s unique layout with five 
individual cottages also makes it the perfect place for small Company 
Functions and Retreats. The reef in front of the cottages is the 
ideal playground for visitors of all ages for swimming and 
snorkeling. Tunnels, Haena Beach Park and Ke’e Beach are all in 
walking distance with lifeguards on duty part of the time. Located at 
Kepuhi Point, Haena, just 15 minutes away from Princeville, the Golf 
Course, Shopping Center, Stables, etc., 10 min. from Hanalei Bay. 
They are two minutes away from the end of the road where the Kalalau 
Trail begins.

TELEPHONE:  Each Cottage has a telephone for local calls only.  

Located at Kepuhi Point, there is plenty of activities for any age. 

Swimming,snorkeling are great right in front of the cottages or you 
can take a short walk down the beach to Tunnels, Haena State Beach 
Park or Ke'e Beach.  

If you enjoy hiking the base of the Kalalau trail is also just down 
the beach.  This is the perfect hike

PRICES: These prices are for all vacations during the 2008  
year. Rates may vary if you are interested is booking for future 
years. Our one bedroom cottages for two people is $375.00 per night.  
Our two bedroom cottages #2 for four people is $495.00 per night.  
Our two bedroom cottage # 5 for four people is $450.00 per night.  
There is a $10.00 per night charge added to the nightly rate for each 
additional guest.  The maximum capacity for our one bedroom cottages 
is 3 people and for our two bedroom is 6 people.  At this time we do 
not offer a weekly rate.


TO SECURE A BOOKING:  In order to secure your booking we require a 
50% deposit.  The deposit is payable by personal check, money order, 
Visa, or Mastercard.  The remainder of the payment is due 20 days 
prior to your arrival.  In addition to the rental charges there is a 
$140-$160.00 cleaning charge to be paid directly to our Kauai 
Cleaning services.  We require a $500.00-$1000.00 security deposit 
which is due with the remainder of the rental payment.  This security 
deposit is refundable within 2 weeks of check out in full, unless 
funds must be deducted to cover additional damages. 

CANCELLATIONS:  We must be notified in writing 45 days prior to 
arrival date. This is a 10% cancellation fee and a $35.00 processing 
fee for all cancellations made 45 days prior. You will be refunded 
all payments minus the above fees. After 45 days there is no 
cancellation or refund. 

MINIMUM STAY:  There is a 4 day minimum stay for all cottages, 
exceptions can be made if booking calendar permits.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT: Check in time is 3:00pm, early check in needs 
to be arranged prior to arrival to insure that the cottage will be 
ready for you.  Check out time is 10:00am, late check out some cases 
is available, however must be discussed prior to check out and will 
result in late check out fees. Non-permitted late check out will 
result in additional nightly rate charge per cottage.

STORAGE OF LUGGAGE: For those with late plane departures, the 
cleaning staff might assist you in the storage of your luggage at 
their digression and agreed upon fee paid in cash and in advance.    

CLEANING SERVICE:  Your cottage will be cleaned prior to your arrival 
and then again after your departure.  One of these cleanings must be 
paid directly to our Kauai Cleaning Service and is payable upon 
arrival to cottages.  Additional cleanings can be arranged prior to 
arrival.  

Guest staying longer than 8 days, will need to arrange for an interim 
cleaning with the cleaning staff at a base cost of $60.00 per cottage 
per double occupancy.  The cleaning cost might be higher depending on 
the condition of the cottage and the number of occupants within the 
cottage.  

ADDITIONAL FEES:  All booking are subject to Hawaii State Taxes of 
General Excise Tax (GET) which is 4.16% and Transient Accommodation 
Tax (TAT) of 7.25%.

KEY POLICY:   Keys are available on site during check in and all keys 
must be returned by check out.  In the event that a guest loses their 
keys, a replacement key can be retrieved from our on site staff 
member.  

NON SMOKING POLICY:    Due to its pristine and natural settings, The 
Hale Makai Cottages have a strictly enforced “Non Smoking Policy”.  
Guest will be billed for additional cleaning fees for any breech in 
conduct. 

NO PETS POLICY:   As much as we know you will miss your pets, there 
is absolutely NO PETS allowed on the property.  

NO SHOE / NO SAND POLICY:   All guests are asked to rinse off all 
sand prior to entering the cottages and to refrain from wearing shoes 
inside the cottages.  This will help to keep up the Aloha Spirit and 
keep the cottages in good condition.
