Experience the magic of Whimsy Cottage located between Newport and 
Waldport on a narrow lane.  From our secluded, cozy cottage, view the 
ocean and migrating gray whales as well as native vegetation alive 
with several species of birds.  Listen to the roaring surf from the 
sunny deck while reading or daydreaming.  Sway in the hammock 
suspended between two trees while enjoying the cooling shade in the 
summer.  There is a grassy backyard for children's play.  Curl up on 
the comfortable sofa in front of the wood stove and watch a winter 
storm or beautiful sunset.  A peaceful, relaxing retreat/vacation is 
possible in this tucked-away setting.

Walk 2 blocks to beach access and Seal Rock State Park with fabulous 
marine gardens and majestic rock formations.  Food options within 
walking distance include a Japanese restaurant and several small food 
shops/espresso where you can buy fresh sandwiches to go, have tea and 
cookies with teddy bears, or indulge in your favorite ice cream, 
handmade fudge, or carmel-laced brownies.  Yum-m-m-m.

Seal Rock shops include antiques, a chain saw wood carving studio, a 
general store, laundromat, Post Office, and a fine wood carving 
gallery.  

 

In the living room/dining room/kitchen, you are surrounded by large 
windows that invite the outdoors in.  The larger bedroom has a queen 
bed, the second bedroom has a double bed.  The living room has a sofa 
sleeper.  Linens and towels are provided. The cottage is heated with 
electric heat in addition to a wood stove. There is cell phone 
reception but no land line.  Whimsy Cottage has a toaster oven, apt.-
size electric range & oven, electric percolator, mini stereo, CD, 
tape player, but no TV.  The cottage  has City water and a septic 
system.

From the cottage you can easily day trip by car to all that the 
Central Oregon Coast has to offer from the outlet malls in Lincoln 
City (no sales tax in Oregon) to the sand dunes in Florence.  There 
are miles of public beaches in between and lots of fun things to 
experience including several golf courses and two casinos.

Things to do:  whale watching and charter boat fishing, Oregon Coast 
Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center, Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, 
Yaquina Head Lighthouse with interpretive center, Yaquina Bay Harbor, 
Agate Beach, Nye Beach, Ona Beach, Alsea Bay, Cape Perpetua 
Interpretive Center, Devil's Punch Bowl, Seal Rock State Park, 
Yaquina Wildlife Refuge with miles of trails, Performing Arts Center, 
Rogue Ales Micro-Brewery and glass float search on beaches.  

Shop:  Old Towne Newport, Nye Beach Shops, Newport, Waldport and 
Yachats.

The rates are $75/night for 2 people with a 2 night minimum stay; 
$95/night for 3; $115/night for 4; $135/night for 5-6 people maximum. 
Children under age 10 are free.  There is a $50 cleaning fee or you 
clean and accept the Cleaning Fee Waiver Agreement that will be sent 
to you.

Cancellation Policy:  If reservations are canceled 30 days or more 
prior to your arrival date, all fees will be refunded minus a $75 
administrative fee.  If reservations are canceled less than 30 days 
of your anticipated arrival, the cleaning fee, if paid, and one half 
of the rental fee will be refunded.  All fees will be refunded if 
your reserved time is rented by another party.
